Ranking Rules
Rules used for ranking students in the Analysis module. Click the edit icon to modify any rule.
1

Calculate Total Marks

Add all subject marks for each student. Total = Sum of All Subject Marks.

2

Calculate Mean Score

Mean = Total Marks รท Number of Subjects. The mean score is the primary ranking metric.

3

Sort Students by Mean (Highest First)

Students are sorted from highest to lowest mean score. Highest mean = Position 1, second highest = Position 2, and so on.

4

Tie-Breaking: Competition Ranking (1,2,2,4)

If two or more students share the same mean score, they receive the same position. The next position skips accordingly. Example: John 82 โ†’ 1st, Mary 78 โ†’ 2nd, Peter 78 โ†’ 2nd, Ann 75 โ†’ 4th.

5

Incomplete Marks: NM (No Marks)

Students missing marks in one or more subjects are excluded from the ranked list and shown as 'NM' (No Marks) in the position column.

6

Ranking Levels

Overall Class Position: All students in the class ranked together. Stream Position: Only students in the same stream are ranked against each other. Subject Position: Students ranked per subject based on individual subject scores.

* Changes are saved locally and persist across sessions.
